Wifi Design Transfer and BERNINA Stitchout App

These two specialities make embroidery even more efficient

You can send embroidery designs from the BERNINA Embroidery Software 9 directly to your embroidery machine via WiFi and monitor the embroidery process with your smartphone. This is particularly useful if you want to leave the room with your embroidery machine to attend to another task.

Our BERNINA sewing machines take the next step in the digital world. The B 790 PRO is the first BERNINA machine whose embroidery process can be conveniently monitored with a smartphone, making multitasking truly possible. Embroidery designs can now also be transferred from the Embroidery Software to the machine via WiFi, i.e. without cables or the hassle of searching for a USB stick.

Design Transfer via WiFi

With the BERNINA Embroidery Software 9 DesignerPlus or Creator, the design can simply be sent to the machine via WiFi. It is important that the latest version of the software (minimum 9.1) is installed. When you start the software, a pop-up window will automatically appear informing you when a new update is available.

Note

To send embroidery designs to the embroidery machine via WiFi or to monitor the embroidery process with the app, the machine must be connected to the same network.

After installing the update, all WiFi-enabled embroidery machines, such as the B790 PRO, are automatically displayed in the selection window, provided they are in the same network.

  • Click on the needle symbol in the center to send the embroidery design directly to the machine when the machine is in embroidery mode.

  • If the embroidery design is to be embroidered at a later date, it can also be saved from the V9 Embroidery Software to the personal folder on the machine. To do this, click on the folder icon on the right, select the My Designs folder in the Transfer window and click on the arrow.
  • The embroidery design is now saved on the embroidery machine.

Embroidery designs that are on the embroidery machine can also be loaded directly into the Embroidery Software 9 or saved on the PC in the same way. This is convenient, for example, if you wish to add lettering or print out a worksheet.

  • To do this, click on File > Read from card/ machine. A window will now open with two sections: the embroidery machine folders are displayed in the upper section and the folders on the PC in the lower section.

  • Select the desired folder and embroidery design in the upper section. To make the selection easier, a preview appears on the right as soon as an embroidery design is selected.
  • Choose the desired storage location on the PC in the lower section. Click on the arrow and confirm the message to save the design to the PC.
  • Click on the V9 symbol next to the preview to directly open the embroidery design in the Embroidery Software.

Note

Please remember that the embroidery designs on the machine are in .exp format and should therefore only be scaled +/-20%.
 

It is also possible to transfer several patterns to the machine at the same time or to import several patterns from the machine to the PC. The process is the same, but several designs are selected simultaneously.

Conveniently, embroidery designs can also be renamed or deleted in this window.

BERNINA Stitchout App

With the new BERNINA Stitchout App, the embroidery process can be monitored on your smartphone, but not edited (min. iOS 15 / Android 10). The B 790 PRO connects to the app and displays the status of the embroidery. The advantage is that you do not have to sit directly in front of the machine, as the app notifies you if there is a thread breakage, the bobbin is empty, a thread change is necessary or the embroidery design is finished.

BERNINA embroidery machines without WiFi compatibility cannot use the BERNINA Stitchout App.

Data Transfer via WiFi Device

BERNINA embroidery machines without WiFi compatibility have a way to wirelessly receive your embroidery designs: The optional BERNINA WiFi Device. This seamless process enables you to do all your creating on the computer and then send it to your embroidery machine for stitching. Whenever your embroidery design is ready for stitching out, you just start the process with a click.

The BERNINA WiFi Device is for data transfer only and not compatible with the BERNINA Stitchout App.
